Plan B - New Waves in Distribution

New digital platforms have been emerging as a central means of distribution for sometime now, and due to the Covid-19 Pandamic, these platforms have seen a spike in viewership. In this moment of shifting habits among viewers internationally, new opportunities are emerging for Palestinian image makers, who have long lacked the support of local cinema or television distribution. This panel will address these issues forecasting an alternative future to reach wider audiences around the world, bypassing the classical gatekeepers. Moderated by Ola Sheikh, with May Odeh, Tariq Abu Lughud, and Irit Neidhardt. These round table conversations at a distance focus on the backup plan: a term that Palestinian filmmakers are all too familiar with. These panels aim to connect these familiar experiences to one another, toward a greater understanding of how the Palestinian film scene will adapt - on the fly - to the latest developments in the international industry. Throughout the week, an episode will be released each day at 15:30 Jerusalem Time. Video will be posted on our site, and audio will play live on @radioalhara.

Moderator: Ola Sheikh

Participants: May Odeh | Tariq Abu Lughud | Irit Neidhardt
