The Made in Palestine Project is an independent arts initiative dedicated to creating and promoting contemporary visual art and culture with a focus on Palestine. We aim to foster a collaborative environment that supports the creativity of emerging visual artists who share our vision. Committed to reaching new audiences and enhancing understanding, our work spans multiple platforms—including exhibitions, publications, and, in particular, films, such as Once Upon a Time in Gaza (2025), Gaza Mon Amour (2020), and Condom Lead (2013)

Les Films de Zayna was established in Paris in 2008 by Raed Andoni and Palmyre Badinier. The company develops projects through close collaboration with writers, technicians, and artists—primarily from the Arab world and Europe. However, its sources of inspiration transcend geography, embracing global perspectives and diverse sensibilities. Les Films de Zayna’s productions have been screened at major international film festivals, including Sundance and Cannes, and have received theatrical releases and television broadcasts worldwide. As main producer, the company’s recent filmography includes En Terrain Connu (2013), a short documentary by acclaimed director Nassim Amaouche; the collective documentary Family Albums (2012); the award-winning Fix Me (2009) by Raed Andoni, and Ghost Hunting (2017).

Hakawati is a London-based company producing and curating creative projects that hold the art of storytelling at their core. Set up by BAFTA-nominated BFI Vision Award winning producer and poet Elhum Shakerifar in 2017, the company is run with the belief that storytelling is both an art and a responsibility. All our projects derive from the central tenet that a good story is in the telling, and that we are the stories we tell. Recent productions include Ayouni by Yasmin Fedda (2020) and Helene Kazan’s multi-sensory investigative tribute to Asmahan, Clear Night (2025), which launched at the Sharjah Biennial. Hakawati is currently producing films by Ana Naomi de Sousa, Brett Story and Mohamed Jabaly.

Elhum Shakerifar is also on the Palestine Film Institute’s Executive Board and co-curator of the Palestine Film Platform. Her curatorial work over the years has included programming for Birds Eye View (Focus on Arab Women Directors, 2013); Art on the Underground (2014); London Film Festival (2014-21), Shubbak – festival of contemporary Arab culture (2015-19), Barbican (Poetry in Motion: Contemporary Iranian Cinema, 2019), BFI (Drama & Desire, the films of Youssef Chahine, 2023), Open City Documentary Festival (focus on Jocelyne Saab), amongst others.

Boujabel Productions was founded by Salim Abu Jabal in Ramallah in 2011, with the goal of providing production and casting services for both his own films and those of other filmmakers. The company organized and produced Film Behind The Wall, a traveling film festival in Palestine. Abu Jabal began his career in cinema in 2004 and has since directed and produced several internationally recognized documentary and fiction films. He served as casting director for films including Najwa Najjar’s Eyes of a Thief (2014) and Pomegranates and Myrrh (2008), as well as Michel Khleifi’s Zindeeq (2009). In addition, he has directed and produced numerous television programs and his own documentaries, including Separation Diary (2012) and The Language of Almonds (2011).
