Jerusalem Arab Film Festival

Jerusalem Arab Film Festival

The Jerusalem Arab Film Festival is a celebration of classic and contemporary Arab and Palestinian cinema held entirely in the city of Jerusalem. As the only film festival of its kind in the city, JAFF offers a rare cultural space amid the continuous shrinking of Palestinian institutions under occupation. This is especially meaningful in a place marked by layered identities and complex socio-political realities. JAFF is not merely a film festival—it is a platform for connection across cultural, generational, and religious boundaries. Through the curation of high-quality films from Palestine and the Arab world, post-screening discussions, and community events, JAFF contributes to the reshaping of the Palestinian narrative, reinforces collective memory, and supports national identity.

Sard, Palestinian Films Festival - Rennes Métropole

Sard, Palestinian Films Festival - Rennes Métropole

Since 2023, SARD, the Palestinian Film Festival, has been held every year in the Rennes metropolitan area. The Arabic word ‘Sard’ means “narrative” in English and ‘récit’ in French. The term echoes what has driven the association since the festival was founded, which is to promote Palestinian cinematographic narratives in all their richness and diversity. With the Sard festival, it is Palestinian cinema that tells its own story. The Festival's main aim is to promote Palestinian cinema in all its different facets (repertory and contemporary films, short films, documentaries, professional meetings, etc.). In addition, Sard has developed a partnership between the University of Rennes 2 and Dar al-Kalima University in Bethlehem, enabling students to exchange views and activities and develop exchanges around the cinematographic approach.

Nazra Palestine Short Film Festival

Nazra Palestine Short Film Festival

The Nazra Palestine Short Film Festival, launched in 2017 through the collaboration of various grassroots organizations, is a competitive event showcasing short films from and about Palestine. The festival supports young filmmakers, artists from the diaspora, and non-Palestinian directors who choose to portray Palestine, aiming to broaden perspectives and narratives. Through cinema, Nazra gives voice to a people who have lived under siege for over seventy-five years and who today face what can only be described as a genocide.

Nazra’s itinerant format has fostered a rich network of connections and artistic exchanges. In 2024, the festival toured more than 50 Italian cities, beginning in Venice and offering a packed program of screenings, debates, exhibitions, and performances. These events took place in cinemas, universities, theatres, museums, and social centers—transforming each into a hub of cultural gathering and political engagement.

By merging film and activism, Nazra not only highlights Palestinian stories but also creates spaces for reflection, solidarity, and resistance. The sixth edition of the festival is scheduled for October 2025.

Nazra has held five editions since its launch in 2017.
