Nazra Palestine Short Film Festival
The Nazra Palestine Short Film Festival, launched in 2017 through the collaboration of various grassroots organizations, is a competitive event showcasing short films from and about Palestine. The festival supports young filmmakers, artists from the diaspora, and non-Palestinian directors who choose to portray Palestine, aiming to broaden perspectives and narratives. Through cinema, Nazra gives voice to a people who have lived under siege for over seventy-five years and who today face what can only be described as a genocide.
Nazra’s itinerant format has fostered a rich network of connections and artistic exchanges. In 2024, the festival toured more than 50 Italian cities, beginning in Venice and offering a packed program of screenings, debates, exhibitions, and performances. These events took place in cinemas, universities, theatres, museums, and social centers—transforming each into a hub of cultural gathering and political engagement.
By merging film and activism, Nazra not only highlights Palestinian stories but also creates spaces for reflection, solidarity, and resistance. The sixth edition of the festival is scheduled for October 2025.
Nazra has held five editions since its launch in 2017.
