Sard, Palestinian Films Festival - Rennes Métropole
Since 2023, SARD, the Palestinian Film Festival, has been held every year in the Rennes metropolitan area. The Arabic word ‘Sard’ means “narrative” in English and ‘récit’ in French. The term echoes what has driven the association since the festival was founded, which is to promote Palestinian cinematographic narratives in all their richness and diversity. With the Sard festival, it is Palestinian cinema that tells its own story. The Festival's main aim is to promote Palestinian cinema in all its different facets (repertory and contemporary films, short films, documentaries, professional meetings, etc.). In addition, Sard has developed a partnership between the University of Rennes 2 and Dar al-Kalima University in Bethlehem, enabling students to exchange views and activities and develop exchanges around the cinematographic approach.
