Drawing on a network of talented professionals, Nūn Films provides local production services, including filming, sound, editing, research support, networking, and media outreach, as well as film and book event management. The company also seeks to build partnerships and collaborative projects with emerging Palestinian artists, as well as Arab filmmakers, writers, and media professionals working on or around themes related to Palestine.

Established in 2010 by Fleifel and Irish-born producer Patrick Campbell, the company gained international recognition with the critically acclaimed feature documentary A World Not Ours (2012), and many other projects such as I Signed the Petition (2018) and To a Land Unknown (2024). Nakba FilmWorks focuses on stories that explore themes of identity and belonging, intentionally moving beyond conventional victim-perpetrator narratives to highlight the individuals and personalities that shape the worlds depicted.

Mec Film


Mec film is an international sales and distribution company exclusively for films by Arab directors. The company was founded in 2002 and is based in Berlin, Germany. Per year they add one feature length film for distribution in German theatres and up to four works for international sales. The shortest film in the catalogue lasts for only five minutes, the longest glues the viewers to their chairs for four and a half hours. Except for the length of the works for theatrical releases, they have no general limit to genre and form. Films distributed by Mec film can be borrowed in selected libraries all over the globe or accessed with university library cards via the digital supplier kanopy. They work with cinemas, festivals, museums, cultural initiatives, universities or neighbourhood centres.

Hakawati is a London-based company producing and curating creative projects that hold the art of storytelling at their core. Set up by BAFTA-nominated BFI Vision Award winning producer and poet Elhum Shakerifar in 2017, the company is run with the belief that storytelling is both an art and a responsibility. All our projects derive from the central tenet that a good story is in the telling, and that we are the stories we tell. Recent productions include Ayouni by Yasmin Fedda (2020) and Helene Kazan’s multi-sensory investigative tribute to Asmahan, Clear Night (2025), which launched at the Sharjah Biennial. The company organized and produced Film Behind The Wall, a traveling film festival in Palestine. Abu Jabal began his career in cinema in 2004 and has since directed and produced several internationally recognized documentary and fiction films. He served as casting director for films including Najwa Najjar’s Eyes of a Thief (2014) and Pomegranates and Myrrh (2008), as well as Michel Khleifi’s Zindeeq (2009).
