MAJDAL FILMS
Established in 2012, MAJDAL FILMS has been independently producing both fiction and documentary feature films ever since. Its slate includes several notable and award-winning works, such as Hany Abu-Assad’s Omar (Academy Award nominee) and The Idol (2015), Jessica Habie’s Mars at Sunrise, and Personal Affairs (2016) by Maha Haj (Official Selection – Cannes Film Festival, Un Certain Regard). The company is led by Baher Agbariya, a Palestinian producer who began his career in 2003 as a line producer on several acclaimed Palestinian films, including Paradise Now (2005) (Academy Award nominee) by Hany Abu-Assad, Inheritance (2012) by Hiam Abbass, and Tanathur (2011) and Thirst (2004) by Tawfiq Abu Wael, among others.
