Synopsis:
A Palestinian filmmaker stages an unlikely audition, which sets her actors to dramatic confrontations with a symbolic Israeli war criminal. The confrontations open questions about the heavy psychological burden of witnessing a genocide and the impossibility of justice. Eager to learn from other survivors around the world, the filmmaker embarks on a journey to Rwanda to learn how she can re-stage a similar confrontation using the wisdom of genocide survivors that have had enough time to process their anger.

Dalia Al Kury is an acclaimed film director whose work of more than 15 films navigates cross-genre storytelling. With a keen eye on the Arab world, her films delve into the undercurrents of cultural taboos and societal intricacies. Her directorial debut, the feature-length Possessed by Djinn (2015), premiered at the prestigious Hotdocs and enjoyed the support of Arte. Her documentary ”Privacy of Wounds” made its debut in competition at IDFA, showcasing her adeptness at capturing deeply personal narratives.
