Coorigines Production
Coorigines Production is a film production company committed to supporting independent cinema that connects places, time, and cultures. It champions films that foster human connection through everyday life stories and intercultural exchange.
Founded by Laura Nikolov, whose background in history, cinema, and international cultural work informs its approach, Coorigines focuses on international co-productions and amplifying rarely heard voices. A central pillar of the company’s identity is its close and ongoing collaboration with celebrated Palestinian filmmaker Rashid Masharawi, a leading voice in Palestinian cinema. Together, they have co-produced several of his latest key works — fiction and documentary alike — including Passing Dreams (2024), Recovery (2021), Diary of Gabrielle Street (2021), and the collective project From Ground Zero (2024), shot in Gaza by young Palestinian filmmakers and shortlisted for the 2025 Oscars.
Other notable titles include Aisha Can’t Fly Away Anymore (Morad Mostafa), selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2025, and Spring Came Laughing (Noha Adel), winner of four awards at the Cairo International Film Festival. Coorigines is currently developing From Ground Zero Plus and has recently expanded into film distribution to further amplify underrepresented and distant voices on the global stage.
